Costa Rica’s La Selva Launches Craft Beer Line in North America

Costa Rica’s La Selva (Spanish for jungle) has become the first producer in the county to export craft beer to North America, starting with Canada.

The beer is crafted through sustainable production methods, ingredient integrity, and a particular advantage in water, which is sourced from the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve in Tambor.

“Our location is fundamental to our beer because it gives us access to pure water legally taken from the Cabo Blanco Reserve,” said owner Re’em Jacob. “This makes our product particularly unique compared to other beer.”

Initially, six beers will be distributed in The Beer Store throughout Ontario: Rubia, a Belgian Golden Ale; Dorada (Amber), Naranja (Reddish), Castaña (IPA), Morena (Costa Rica Brown Ale), and Oscura (Newporter).
