Costa Rican beer was the talk of the town at the 5th annual Copa Cervezas de América beer competition in Chile, taking home a total of 13 medals for their delicious booze.
Costa Rica Meadery landed two gold medals and one bronze. The company’s ChiCheMel Caribeño beer won gold in the experimental mead category and Passiflora, a strong mead made with passion fruit, won gold for best fruit mead.
Four other Costa Rican brewers, Calle Cimarrona, Os Beer Co., Beeche Cervecería Artesenal and Domingo 7 earned silver medals at the competition, while Costa Rica Meadery, Wilk, and Treintaycinco took home the bronze.
Last year, Costa Rican beer earned just five medals, so the country is clearly becoming a nation of master brewers.
