El Carmen Estate: Unmissable Coffee Plantation in El Salvador

Love coffee? Visiting El Salvador? Pay a visit to the El Carmen Estate, one of the most well-known coffee plantations in the country.
Founded in 1930 by the Alfaro family, the mill is located in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range next to the quaint town of Concepción de Ataco.
The best time to visit is in December and January, when the red and orange Bourbon cherries are hand-picked and de-pulped the same day by the Alfaro family.
During the experience, guests are welcomed at La Casona, the original farm house, for a special tasting, and there are even on-site guest rooms to rest your bones after a long day enjoying the estate’s fine coffee.
