The Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC) plans to honor the top 50 IT professionals from the Americas during its IT Leadership Summit scheduled next week in Miami.
An key topic during the forum is unifying the Americas through technology, said the Council. The summit will run for two days, starting March 14.
“We want to celebrate and encourage Hispanics in the technology industry,” Andre Arbelaez, President of HITEC and Senior Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer of Softtek said. “We want to push up mid-level Hispanics in IT to the upper ranks and we want to pull up young stars and promote them so they can get to the next level.”
Other topics on the agenda include competency and career management, big data analytics, diversity inclusion, social media, and nearshoring.
The HITEC stated in a press release that it would honor its top 50 IT professionals with a gala Thursday night.
Top executives from technology companies across Latin America are likely to take part in the event.
“We want Hispanic leaders to have the positions they deserve and to inspire others to keep reaching,” said Alberto Yepez, HITEC Chairman and Managing Director of Trident Capital.
HITEC is a professional organization for Hispanic IT Executives and its aim is to increase Hispanic leadership in Information Technology sector.
