Italian digital and customer‑experience services vendor Almaviva has finalized a deal to acquire Brazilian technology firm TIVIT, significantly expanding its footprint across Latin America.
With annual revenues of around $362 million (2 billion Brazilian reais), TIVIT employs about 15,000 people across multiple Latin American countries, including Argentina, Colombia and Chile.
Despite the acquisition, TIVIT’s data-center operations — spun off in 2023 into a separate entity — will remain under the ownership of private equity firm Apax Partners, which holds a 90% stake in that asset.
Under the stewardship of Apax, TIVIT pursued an aggressive growth strategy, acquiring Synapsis, a leading IT services provider in the region, and XMS, a specialist in cloud implementation.
To sharpen its focus on digital solutions, TIVIT spun off two business units — Neobpo in 2016 and Takoda in 2022. This repositioning allowed the company to strengthen its leadership, bringing in strategic talent across key areas such as digital transformation, cybersecurity, cloud services and SAP solutions.
Today, most of TIVIT’s income is derived from cybersecurity and digital-transformation services, with around 15,000 employees across the region, primarily based in Brazil.
The Brazilian firm also develops online platforms for banks and digital payments. In 2023, contract volumes grew by 46% year-over-year, making it one of Brazil’s fastest‑growing tech companies.
Almaviva had earmarked approximately $900 million in late 2023 for acquisitions. It began with a 51% stake in Magna Sistemas in April 2024 and later acquired the U.S.-based Iteris for roughly $335 million, along with several European companies.
Almaviva employs around 27,000 people, with the majority working in customer support and collections. Over recent years, it has downscaled some of these operations in Brazil and Colombia. With the acquisition of TIVIT, Almaviva is likely to shift further toward digital services, cementing its strategic transformation.
