LATAM Police Forces Turn to Swedish AI Firm for Help

Irisity, a Swedish AI firm, is experiencing rapid growth in Latin America as the region suddenly looks for technology assistance to combat crime.

The Gothenburg-based company’s intelligent video analysis platform, IRIS+ is helping police forces across the region prevent crime, identify suspects, and enhance overall security.

From smart search forensics to live anomaly detection and real-time incident identification, IRIS+ empowers authorities with a powerful crime-fighting toolkit.

The company’s recent expansion to Brazil and Argentina reflects this regional boom. Executives anticipate a staggering 50% increase in revenue this year, building on the 30% growth already achieved in Colombia, Chile and Mexico in 2023.

Irisity’s success story began with its 2021 acquisition of Israeli firm Agent Vi. This strategic move transformed the company from a video analysis specialist into an AI-based security solution provider. IRIS+ also integrates AI capabilities into existing camera infrastructure.

Latin American news outlets have reported on several examples of security forces embracing Irisity’s technology. From Vicente Lopez County in Argentina to the Dominican Republic’s 911 emergency number and Grupo Securitas in Montevideo, police forces across the region are embracing AI in their fight against crime.

“Supporting public forces in Latin America is a significant step for our company,” João Paulo Florentino, VP at Irisity, recently told Brazilian news portal TiInside.com.
