Matt KendallPeople in the United States are increasingly looking to Nearshore destinations to purchase their next properties, and Mexico is at the top of the home buying list.
According to a study of US Google searches by real estate consultancy Point2Homes, America’s closest southern neighbor had almost 64,000 monthly searches for homes for sale in 2017.
The company did a similar study in 2015, when Mexico ranked fourth, showing a distinct rise in popularity for the country, despite political put-downs from the US government.
Following in the top five rankings is Canada, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and Belize, with the US Virgin Islands, Panama, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica securing spots in the top ten.
