Too many companies still think about nearshore vs. offshore as an either/or decision. Jon Butler of ISG highlights why this is false choice, however, noting that India is still a good option in many cases but “not the best solution” for all projects while speaking at the Future Source Summit last fall. He believes projects focused on high-touch operations, agile, and testing naturally “lend themselves to doing things in Mexico.” That doesn’t mean severing ties with your Indian suppliers though. It just requires branching out to nearshore when it makes this much sense, “not necessarily as a replacement for India — but a complement.”
