Microsoft Partnering with Monsanto to Invest in Brazil's Agricultural Tech Startups

Tech giant Microsoft is partnering with US biotech company Monsanto to invest in agricultural technology startups in Brazil. Technology company Qualcomm is also investing in the fund.
Microsoft is managing a Brazilian investment fund that Monsanto will donate up to 300 million reals ($92 million). The aim is to give agricultural production a boost in the country through new digital tools, executives said.
Rodrigo Santos, head of Monsanto in Latin America, told reporters: “We want to foster new startups in the agricultural sector. There is a vast area for research and development.”
