The nearshoring model has been chugging along for decades now, and like any machine, it requires a checkup every now and then.
Many questions arise among nearshore market players as the landscape twists and turns, challenging them to renew their sales pitches, business strategies or overall operating models. How do you engage clients who are losing interest? How do you implement new, disruptive technologies without blowing a hole in your own ship? What value is there in the nearshore model? How is it created? Where do you find it?
This and more questions were addressed during Nexus 2024’s closing panel, where a group of experts in nearshore operations, market analysis and global sourcing provided the attending audience with their diagnosis on the state of nearshoring.
In short: the model is still working, but there’s much to fix, improve and ponder. Otherwise, the whole machinery will rust away and collapse under the pressures of the market.
