Japanese tech services giant NTT Data appointed senior executive Abhijit Dubey as its new CEO.
Abhijit Dubey —an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a contemporary of Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai— joined NTT in 2021. Residing in London, Dubey will now oversee NTT’s operations outside of Japan.
Prior to his tenure at NTT, Dubey was a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he provided strategic advice to leading technology firms and CEOs, particularly focusing on cloud computing. He led McKinsey’s global initiatives in this field, establishing himself as a key figure in the industry.
Dubey’s appointment follows the merger of NTT Data with NTT Ltd., which created a US$30 billion global entity under the NTT DATA name. Dubey served as CEO of NTT Ltd.
NTT Data has extensive operations in Latin America. It made its first foray into the region in 2011 when it bought Italy’s Value Team SpA, which operates in several countries regionally. It currently runs delivery centers in Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile and Brazil.
NTT’s biggest expansion in Latin America came in 2016 when it purchased Dell’s services unit for around US$3 billion. The Japanese company controls a majority of shares in Everis as well.
Headquartered in Tokyo, NTT Data offers a wide array of services, including technology consulting, data and AI, industry solutions, cloud computing, cybersecurity and managed services.
The company generates an average annual revenue of US$18 billion, ranking sixth among IT services providers globally.
