Alfredo Pacheco, one of the most visible champions of Mexico services and outsourcing, has been named CEO of CANIETI, the chamber representing over 1,000 IT, tech and telecom firms based in Mexico City.
Pacheco has been the executive director for several years at MexicoIT, the organization working with CANIETI, to further the development of software and services exports. In addition, Pacheco has been serving as chief operations officer of CANIETI, before being named chief executive of the organization.
CANIETI’s primary objective is to advance the competitive development of Mexico’s technology and telecommunications industries. The group’s formation dates back to the 1930’s and 1940’s when it was originally organized around support of radio and television industries and manufacturing.
Pacheco came to CANIETI in 2002 as a regional CEO, where he served for four years. Previously, he worked in the Economics Ministry.
Pacheco is a Nearshore Americas Power 50 member, and has been instrumental in cultivating expanding interest among business in the United States to partner with Mexico based technology and services businesses.
