Patrón x Guillermo del Toro: A Mexican Tequila with a Dark Side

Mexico‘s Guillermo del Toro, director of fantasy greats such as Pan’s Labyrinth, The Devil’s Backbone, and more recently The Shape of Water, the latter of which landed him two 2018 Oscar nominations for Best Screenplay and Best Director, is lending his dark creative talents to a unique tequila called Patrón x Guillermo del Toro.

The liquor is — as described on the Patrón website — “a blended extra añejo tequila and aged orange liqueur nest together in a fantastical box”, with a design straight from the dark imagination of Del Toro’s twisted mind.

Presented in a upside-down bottle (750ml), the 40% ABV liqueur nests together with the ornate box to create a mystical and eye-catching carved skeleton, and tastes incredible to boot.
