Call center services firm IBEX Global Solutions has appointed Robert Dechant as its new chief executive officer. Dechant, who in his previous role helped grow Qualfon into a strong BPO operator in the Americas, will take up the position on May 15, with interim chief executive Mohammed Khaishgi to remain on the board as a non-executive director.
Armed with 25 years of experience in the outsourcing industry, Dechant has handled several key jobs such as strategic sales, marketing and client management in top global firms including IBM, Convergys, 3Com Corporation, Modus Media and Stream Global Services.
Most recently, he was the Chief Sales, Marketing and Client Relations Officer at Qualfon. In this role, he diversified the client portfolio, implemented new sales and go-to-market processes and established viable nearshore markets, transforming the business into a rapidly growing player in the BPO industry.
Prior to Qualfon, he served as Executive Vice President for Sales, Marketing and Client Services for Stream Global Services, which merged with Convergys last year.
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., IBEX Global runs 18 call centers in five countries, employing over 9,000 people. Previously known as TRG Customer Solutions Inc, IBEX counts the likes of AT&T, DirectTV and Apple among its customers.
Dechant has a Bachelors of Science degree from Fairfield University. “He brings an excellent background and strong leadership experience, gained within our industry in multiple functional areas at global scale,” stated Zia Chishti, Chairman of IBEX.
