Report: Latin America’s eLearning Market to Reach $2.2 Billion by 2016

PRNewswire: Market Research Firm Ambient Insight has predicted that eLearning products and services in Latin America would grow at the rate 14.6 percent, doubling the revenue from $1.16 billion to $2.29 billion by 2016.

Interestingly, the report says, Latin America will no longer be a consumer by just consuming content and technology from outside the region, this will soon change as ‘domestic suppliers continue to gain market share.’

This is a regional report designed for suppliers that are competing, or plan to compete, in Latin America.

“As of 2011, the revenues are heavily concentrated in four of the countries analyzed in this report,” reports Sam S. Adkins, Chief Research Officer. “By 2016, revenues will be spread out among several other countries as eLearning gains traction across the region.”

There are two sections in this report: a demand-side analysis and a supply-side analysis. Additionally there is an index of over 115 suppliers competing in the region.

The demand-side analysis provides suppliers with insight into the buying behaviors in the top buying countries in Latin America. The buying behavior is different in each country.

“The growth rate for cloud-based authoring tools and learning platforms in Latin America is 22.0 percent, the highest growth rate of all eLearning products in this region,” comments CEO Tyson Greer. “There is a surge in demand for cloud-based authoring tools and platforms in Latin America and it is likely that Ambient Insight will have to revise forecasts upward in subsequent forecasts.”
