Matt KendallCosta Rica’s capital city San Jose (also affectionately known as “Chepe” by local residents) is celebrating its 281st anniversary this Sunday and throughout March, with a number of events and activities taking place around the city.
The birthday party is organized by the municipality of San Jose as part of Transitarte 2018, a major summer festival that combines culture, art, music, dance, and theater.
The celebrations will attract book signings, video presentations, markets, food trucks, a collection of Costa Rican products, amateur boxing matches, concerts, and various workshops.
