SGF Global Buys Two Colombian Staffing Firms to Boost Nearshore Capacity

Nearshore RPO provider SGF Global has strengthened its South American operations with the acquisition of two Colombia-based staffing firms, Asertempo and Polifuncionales. Both companies focus on general and IT staffing and were held by the same shareholder group. The financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

The deals will add more than 700 contractors to SGF Global’s talent pool, expanding its ability to support multinational clients with contingent workforce and project-based hiring needs.

Mauricio Sion, Director at SGF Global, said the timing reflects rising opportunities across Latin America, driven not only by domestic hiring demand but also by accelerating growth in nearshore services.

The Colombia acquisitions build on SGF Global’s recent purchases of Adecco’s Uruguay and Ecuador operations in 2024 and 2025. Together, these moves signal a deliberate effort to deepen the company’s footprint in key Latin American markets.

The Uruguay deal integrated an established local platform into SGF’s global network, while the Ecuador acquisition strengthened its capacity to address technology talent shortages and nearshoring demand.

Headquartered in Miami, SGF Global operates in more than 30 countries and provides a broad range of talent solutions, including staffing, recruitment process outsourcing, employer-of-record services, payroll and training.

Industry analysts say the expansion aligns with a wider shift among multinational firms, which are turning to Latin America both as a source of skilled talent and as a nearshore base for operations serving North American and European markets.

While SGF Global has traditionally operated as a BPO vendor, the company is now placing greater emphasis on employer-of-record solutions and rolling out nearshoring services.
