Every software development shop touts its ability to innovate, but fewer actually do it. In a Nearshore Nexus panel discussion last year, several executives at some top firms discussed how to better meet the growing client demand to merge design and innovation from the outset in software development work. Sam Elfawal of NEORIS highlighted the need for better collaboration and “co-innovation.” Mike Slavin of Alsbridge noted that traditional outsourcing deals fail to incentivize innovation. And Gustavo Aguirre of Globant said it’s all about culture. “You should have innovation as an important corporate value, and encourage and reward innovation,” said Aguirre.
