WestJet’s Swoop Launches First Low-Cost Flights from Canada to Jamaica

Canadian carrier WestJet has announced new nonstop flights from Hamilton to Montego Bay with its budget airline Swoop, making it the first low-cost route from Canada to the Caribbean.

Booking have already launched at $149 CAD each way (US$115), which is a steal compared to the $740 CAD prices of similar flights in December.

The service kicks off on December 16, 2018 and will fly on Wednesdays and Sundays until April 24, 2019.

“The addition of Montego Bay to our network is another important milestone,” said Steven Greenway, President of Swoop. “Many Canadians of Jamaican origin live in the Toronto area, which makes this new route ideal for connecting friends, family, and loved ones.”
