Wipro Launches Innovation Studio in Austin

India’s IT services firm Wipro unveiled an innovation studio in Austin, Texas, with the goal of offering space for its clients looking to experiment with new technology solutions such as metaverse, 5G and edge computing.

The studio will pave a path for Wipro to make the most of the patents it won over the past decade, in addition to helping build closer relationships with clients, said analysts.

“Our Innovation Studio will be the foundation to co-develop high-quality technology solutions for advanced digital engineering, cybersecurity leveraging Java Full Stack, Cloud, Snowflake and S/4HANA technologies, amongst others,” said Srini Pallia, Wipro’s CEO for the Americas.

“The Studio will provide our clients with a wide range of solutions, with potential to unlock a world of possibilities for their business,” he added.

The Bangalore, India-based IT provider stated that its studio would not only generate hundreds of jobs for local citizens but also bring in investments from technology firms.

The 40,000 square feet facility has 36 rooms and 12 conference rooms, in addition to 330 individual workstations.

Wipro’s clients can either collaborate with employees of the IT firm to create technology solutions for themselves or experiment with a new solution they are planning to purchase.

The announcement comes almost 6 months after Wipro acquired cybersecurity firm Edgile in Austin.
