Evalueserve Marks 25 Years in Chile

Knowledge-process outsourcing firm Evalueserve is celebrating 25 years in Chile, underscoring how a global company can thrive in the Andean nation’s competitive business landscape.

The firm launched its Chilean operations in December 2006, aiming to serve major U.S. banking clients from a nearshore base.

Before choosing Chile, Evalueserve evaluated several Latin American markets. The final decision, according to former Chile country manager Mohit Shrivastav, came down to Chile’s time-zone alignment with the United States and its ability to work seamlessly with the company’s India centers to provide round-the-clock support.

The office was established in Viña del Mar in the Valparaíso Region, just west of Santiago. What began with a few dozen employees soon expanded into a multicultural hub of more than 500 professionals representing over twenty nationalities.

In the early years, most of the workforce was international. Over time, the company invested heavily in training and developing local professionals. Today, more than 75% of its staff are Chilean. Shrivastav often highlighted Chile’s efficient immigration systems as a competitive advantage. Work permits for foreign specialists could be obtained in a week, enabling fast project launches and rapid scaling.

“We are easily able to hire bilingual quantitative analysts to serve our U.S. investment banking clients,” he said in a local interview two years after the center opened.

Shrivastav, an alumnus of India’s prestigious business school, the Indian Institute of Management, left the company in 2013, but Evalueserve had already built a strong foothold in the country.

Mohit Shrivastav led Evaluserve’s Chilean operations for more than 7 years.

Evalueserve’s Chile team anchors the company’s global work in risk and compliance for financial services — one of its four core business lines. Today, around half of Evalueserve’s worldwide clients operate in financial services.

Its flagship platform, Insightsfirst, helps businesses gain a deeper insight into their operations, paving a way for them to chart a future course.

In recent years, the Chile office has earned multiple accolades. It secured its first Great Place to Work certification in 2022 and ranked 11th on the LinkedIn Chile Top Companies List in 2023. It also received the government-awarded Compromiso Migrante seal for advancing intercultural inclusion—making it the only firm in the Valparaíso region to earn the distinction.

Evalueserve itself was founded in 2000 by Marc Vollenweider, a former McKinsey partner, and Alok Aggarwal, a former IBM research leader. Established in Zug, Switzerland, the firm began as a research and analytics specialist before expanding across continents.

To mark the company’s 25 years in Chile, Vollenweider shared a message with team members. He said strong leaders uphold robust ethics, support their teams, and coach them toward shared goals. “Moreover, good leaders produce good future leaders and will be respected by them,” he noted.
