Australian business process outsourcing company Acquire BPO has expanded into the Dominican Republic with the launch of a delivery center in Santo Domingo. The outsourcer that set up its U.S. headquarters in Dallas says an office in the nearshore region fits into its goal of bolstering operation in the Americas.
The new site is located on the 19th floor of Santo Domingo’s iconic Acropolis Tower, which also houses two embassies and several global companies, including Citibank, P&G, and Scotiabank.
Acquire has not disclosed how many employees it plans to hire for its DR operation, but reports say its office is big enough to accommodate 700 people. The Dominican office will provide contact center and BPO services in English and Spanish to U.S. customers.
“By operating out of the Dominican Republic, Acquire BPO can leverage proximity to the U.S., optimum time-to-market schedules, the operational efficiencies of on-site staff combined with cost-efficient outsourcing, and more,” said the Australian firm in a press release.
Acquire BPO has set aside $30 million for its expansion in the Dominican Republic. “After a year of thorough planning and heavy investment in people, facilities, and infrastructure, I am pleased to say that I believe we have built what is by far the best contact center in the Dominican Republic,” said Scott Stavretis, CEO of Acquire BPO.
Acquire BPO, one of the fastest growing BPO firms in Asia Pacific region, purchased Philippine BPO company Shore Solutions in November, 2014, adding 2,500 employees to its operations. Today, it employs 7,000 people in its 12 facilities across the world, with reports saying that the company’s goal is to increase its headcount to 10,000. Most of the company’s clients are in telecom, consumer retail, and finance.
