Argentina has been ranked as the number one Latin American country on the Country Brand Index 2017-18, which ranks perceptions from outside the region.
The southern country knocks Brazil off the top spot, with the report citing the change of political leadership as a probable factor for its favorable impact. “Now it is up to the Government to maintain this constant climate,” said the report.
Cuba, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and El Salvador also went up the rankings, while Panama, Uruguay, Venezuela, Paraguay, and Honduras each dropped one rank.
Mexico, Chile, and Peru follow the leaders in the top five list, their ranks unchanged since last year’s report.
