Faces in the Crowd

Jose Oyarce used to be an airplane engineer for the Chilean air force. He did maintenance on the electronic and communications equipment used in combat aircraft and even got to fly as a co-pilot. His Top Gun days may have ended in 1999 when he joined CGS Chile, but this didn’t stop Oyarce from aiming sky high. He has been able to apply lessons of the military environment at the firm and rise from an agent supervisor to an operations manager who leads 350 people. The growth he has seen is remarkable since there were only 20 employees when he joined. Due to this, he considers CGS a second family — although he admits it can’t compare with the joy he gets at home spending time with his daughters. “The secret of happiness is to live each day as if it is the last one,” said Oyarce, “enjoying every single detail that makes us feel good.”
