Cognizant has acquired enterprise cloud applications vendor Collaborative Solutions in an apparent bid to capitalize on the growing demand for cloud computing services in this age of coronavirus.
The demand for cloud services is soaring in recent months, as businesses ramp up their IT infrastructure to allow their employees to work from home.
“Running core applications in the cloud has never been more important,” said Greg Hyttenrauch, President, Digital Systems and Technology, Cognizant. “Workday is a critical enterprise cloud suite that gives finance, HR, and other functions greater resiliency and agility.”
Washington, D.C-based Collaborative Solutions is one of the largest Workday consultancies specializing in dishing out cloud applications for finance and HR departments.
Founded in 2003, the consultant has more than 1,000 employees across its offices in the US, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Some analysts say Cognizant could be eying Collaborative’s clients rather than the technology assets. That’s because most of the cloud vendor’s clients are large corporations with thousands of employees. Among them are Equinix, Motorola Solutions, F5, Expedia, Visa, and Kimberly-Clark.
Collaborative Solutions’ services include strategy development, organizational change management, and the deployment and management of finance, HR, planning, and higher education solutions.
For Cognizant, the acquisition adds HR advisory and implementation services to its cloud offering, besides opening up new opportunities for cross-selling IT solutions.
“As one of Workday’s longest-tenured services partners, we have the expertise, depth, and proficiency in driving true finance and HR transformation,” says Carroll Ross, CEO of Collaborative Solutions.
