Six Costa Rican students have been granted scholarships to study technical skills in the United States, according to report from the Tico Times.
The students are María Nazareth Mata Castillo, Valeria Saborío Barquero, Diego Hernández Montero, Maxwell Jornae Pita Nelson, Josué Ortega Ramírez and Antony Ramírez Montero
The Dr. Ana Sittenfeld Specialized Technical Grant exists through an alliance between the Costa Rica USA Foundation for Cooperation, the Costa Rican Investment Board, the U.S. Embassy, United Airlines, and the Costa Rican-North American Cultural Center.
“We know that the country is increasing its numbers of new professionals in science and technology, but it’s not enough to meet the demand of the business sector,” said a spokesperson from the CRUSA Foundation in a statement.
