David Watt joined HSBC Bank Canada in May 2012 as Chief Economist, bringing nearly 20 years of past experience as an economist, a currency strategist, and a fixed income strategist in Canada’s financial sector.
In his role, David is responsible for the bank’s economic forecasts with a focus on bringing HSBC’s strong global economic research to their Canadian clients.
David started his career at the Bank of Canada, with time spent at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and other Canadian financial institutions. He also holds a Masters of Economics from Queen’s University, where he also undertook advanced graduate studies.
