Digital Talent, a public-private partnership that brings together companies, training institutions and government agencies, will provide the training on behalf of Google.
“Our goal is to develop new skills in people in line with the demands of the digital economy,” stated Digital Talent.
The organization claims to have trained more than 14,000 Chileans over the past four years, but it has not released any data on the number of trainees who have found employment.
The training program is available online, so Chileans from all over the country can participate.
“We distributed career certificates among 500 people in Chile last year,” said Edgardo Frias, country director of Google in Chile.
Google’s goal is to finance the training of 120,000 people across the region, mainly in Argentina, Colombia and Mexico.
