Jamaica Will Be The First Digital Society in The Caribbean, Says IDB

“Jamaica is on the path to becoming the Caribbean’s first digital society and is positioning itself to make the giant leap forward to improving the lives of its people through digital innovation,” said Luis Alberto Moreno, President at the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDB), pictured right.

Moreno made the comment at the signing ceremony for a package of IDB loan operations this week, where the bank agreed on an investment loan of millions to strengthen cybersecurity, bolster the e-Government services, and support digital transformation projects

“This loan will enable the government to take these bold steps in implementing systems that will advance our nation’s people,” said Finance Minister Audley Shaw.
