LATAM Airlines, formerly LAN Airlines, has launched its first non-stop flight between Lima, Peru, and San Jose, Costa Rica, as part of a strategy to boost tourism and connectivity in the Latin American region.
The airline is initially operating three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, bit will add a Saturday flight in March. Flight time is around 3 hours and 50 minutes, with a one-hour time difference between the two cities.
“In 2018, we will continue to strengthen connectivity in the region and Costa Rica is just the first of 24 new routes we have already announced for this year, which include Boston, Las Vegas, Rome and Lisbon,” said Enrique Cueto, Chief Executive at LATAM Airlines Group.
