If quaint buildings are your thing, start with the Church of Our Lady of Candelaria, a mid-20th century Roman Catholic parish church, then walk over to the iconic Faro de Punta del Este lighthouse, before another quick walk to Paseo Neruda museum.
Punta del Este is also one of the best destinations in Uruguay if you like the beach, socializing, and night life, with Playa Brava being the peninsula’s most stunning sands. Also visit “The Hand” (La Mano), an unmissable concrete beach sculpture built in 1982 by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal.
If you or the kids are feeling active, the Aqua Splash Park water park is close by and features a large, inflatable play structure in the ocean.
