BPO provider Mass Markets has shifted its Dakota Dunes contact center to a newly-renovated facility in Sioux City, Iowa, with the company officials speaking of doubling workforce.
Currently, around 300 people are working at the call center, says Mass Markets, a subsidiary of Marlowe Companies Inc. (MCI).
The BPO provider renovated the facility after purchasing it for more than US$1.7 million from CenturyLink, according to Sioux City Journal. The 50,000-square-feet facility was sitting empty for the past six years.
“The additional capacity of the new location will allow MCI to scale the Sioux City location to over 300 employees in 2019 and it is anticipated to be home to 400 to 500 of various MCI Company employees in 2020,” the BPO provider stated in a press release.
Mass Markets is currently looking to hire customer service agents and sales managers, according to Joe Vondracek, Vice President of Operations at MCI.
Anthony Marlowe, CEO of MCI, says the company grew by ‘a factor of four times’ in the last few years. “We are bringing in hundreds of new jobs to the Siouxland market. The economy is on fire,” he added.
Marlowe is call center industry veteran in North America, where the company has employed more than 2,000 people across nine delivery centers.
Last year, it took control of Servicom’s call center in Nova Scotia, Canada, bringing some relief to more than 600 employees who had lost their jobs following the sudden closer of their office.
