NTT Data Acquires Brazil’s Aoop

Japanese IT services firm NTT Data has acquired Brazilian digital transformation vendor Aoop, gaining a significant foothold in South America’s IT services market.

Sao Paulo-based Aoop is similar to Sapphire, a British ServiceNow specialist that NTT Data acquired in November last year.

Aoop claims to have completed around 2,500 digital transformation projects since its founding in 2017. With more than 300 professionals, Aoop helps companies streamline their digital workflows and even automate key functions.

Local news outlets report that Aoop aimed to achieve US$17 million in annual revenue in 2023. Moreover, its operations in Latin America are growing, as it has managed to add at least 20 major customers in Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico.

The Brazilian firm will remain independent despite the acquisition, with its current CEO, Luiz Cesar Baptistella, continuing to lead the operations.

NTT Data has extensive operations in Latin America. In recent months, the company seems to be focusing on automation, artificial intelligence, and cloud technology to gain more clients.

The acquisition of Aoop will add 120 customers to NTT Data’s portfolio, which has been operating in Brazil for 25 years.

“With the acquisition of Aoop, we significantly increase our competitive strength in Brazil by offering both SAP and ServiceNow solutions, positioning us alongside market leaders,” said Norbert Rotter, CEO of NTT Data Business Solutions.
