Before Peru welcomed in its new government last summer, investor sentiment about the Peruvian economy had been soured by weak demand for mineral resources, reducing foreign investment, but President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski’s administration became determined to change that.
In an interview with Nearshore Americas, AmCham Peru’s Executive Director and CEO, Aldo Defilippi, describes the main characteristics of the nation that will attract FDI, and explains how the country has been preparing itself for foreign investment.
Perhaps the most interesting revelation is that while infrastructure is still poor it presents a great opportunity for the right investors to help develop the country and then capitalize on those developments.
