Redditor Describes Ongoing Struggle of Life in Puerto Rico Without Power

A Puerto Rican user on social news aggregation site Reddit has described in detail what life is like in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria, which has left most of the island without power since September 19.

The user, “nopuedeser”, from Hato Rey in San Juan, reports that the lack of electricity has everyone on edge in the area. “Politics are getting in the way of real progress,” he said. “People with electricity say they have constant power outages so not even they feel they are back to normal.”

The individual, who works in advertising, says that he sources his electricity from the office generator, a hot commodity that is being stolen by desperate opportunists.
