The Caribbean island of Saint Lucia saw a record number of visitors in 2017, with 1.1 million tourists representing an 11% increase in arrivals.
The nation reported the highest growth out of all members of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), including Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Belize, Cuba, Barbados, and Guyana, among many other countries.
“The tourism industry continues to be an incredibly important and vital part of the Saint Lucian economy. We are happy with the levels of growth witnessed and as we continue our marketing efforts, we are also looking to maximize the impact of tourism on our economy,” said Dominic Fedee, Minister of Tourism.
