Honduras Startup Awards $85K in Funding to Local Entrepreneurs

Honduras Startup, the country’s government-led program for developing local entrepreneurs, has awarded 2 million lempiras (US$85,000) to three burgeoning tech companies in the second edition of the Startup Awards.

The winners were Robotedh in first place with one million lempiras, Rudybot in second with 600,000 lempiras, and Aurem (pictured) in third place with 400,000 lempiras.

The event was chaired by the president of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernández, as well as Ramón Espinoza, the country’s Director of Science, Technology, and Innovation.

The 217 participants were also given last generation laptop to continue their studies and research of innovation and technology projects.
