Sitel to Hire 300 Agents at Call Center in Alabama

Global outsourcing firm Sitel is expanding its operations in Alabama by hiring nearly 300 agents for its call center in Hamilton. The expansion is the result of a new contract the outsourcer won with a U.S.-based communication services provider.

The newly staff, Sitel said, will provide inbound customer support to a client that offers digital cable, HDTV, DVR, high-speed internet and local and long-distance phone calls.

The news of the expansion comes barely a week after the BPO provider unveiled plans to open a new site in Warwickshire, in the United Kingdom, where it will recruit 600 call center agents by the end of 2015.

“We have a great group of talented employees and look forward to bringing in additional personnel for our front-line, support and management positions,” said John Thomas, Sitel’s Hamilton Site Director.

The Nashville, Tennessee-based outsourcer is currently holding job fair in Hamilton to choose its prospective employees.

With more than 110 delivery centers in 23 countries, Sitel is one of the world’s largest voice-based BPO firms. Owned by Canadian diversified company, Onex Corporation, Sitel has more than 56,000 employees.
