Sony Signs New Agreement to Distribute Thousands of Cuban Songs

Sony has agreed to distribute music from Cuban company EGREM’s back catalog of more than 10,000 works. The long list of songs includes tracks from Benny More, Chucho Valdes, and Omara Portuondo.

According to local news sources, the agreement will allow Sony ATV Music Publishing to provide clients with licence rights to the songs for the TV and film, serving services providers like Spotify, Netflix, and YouTube.

Cuba has a rich musical wealth that has not been exploited and that is why it is a privilege for Sony to participate in this agreement with the purpose of expanding Cuban music and making sure that the rest of the world enjoys it,” said Guy Henderson, President of the multinational giant (pictured center).
