More than 47% of technology companies are currently adopting or have fully implemented agentic artificial intelligence (AI), according to EY’s latest Technology Pulse Poll.
The global accounting and consulting firm reports that optimism around AI remains high, with 81% of surveyed tech leaders confident that AI will support their organizational goals over the next 12 months.
Half of the respondents indicated that over 50% of their AI deployments will operate autonomously.
“Technology companies continue to lead in the rapid adoption of agentic AI,” said James Brundage, EY Global and Americas Technology Sector Leader. “Our survey underscores a clear shift from pilot programs to full-scale production, supported by ambitious investment.”
Despite this momentum, EY noted that it is still early in the AI lifecycle, and companies’ competitive positioning remains uncertain.
Among executives planning to expand their AI budgets, 43% said that more than half of their total AI spend is currently dedicated to agentic AI.
To support this transformation, companies are investing heavily in talent: 70% are focusing on upskilling existing teams, while 68% are actively hiring AI-skilled professionals.
In fact, 84% of tech leaders surveyed expect to expand their workforce over the next six months due to AI integration.
The EY Technology Pulse Poll, conducted in April 2025, gathered insights from over 500 senior technology executives.
