Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has joined forces with search engine giant Google Inc to develop cloud solutions in an apparent effort to capitalize on the growing demand for cloud in the digital services industry.
The Mumbai, India-based IT services major stated that the solutions it is going to develop will help enterprises build secure analytics platforms, a vital tool for businesses to gain deeper insights into customer behavior.
TCS – already one of the partners of Google Anthos , a platform that simplifies building, running and managing services both on-premises and in the cloud – says its solutions will ultimately enable enterprises to “harness the full power” of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
“Google’s Cloud Platform and Anthos provide a solid foundation to create modern, container hosted, microservices-based applications deployed on hybrid cloud environments,” TCS senior executive Raman Venkatraman said in a press release.
Building an inventory of ‘value accelerators’ is the need of the hour for IT services providers in the market where everyone is trying to become more agile and productive.
For most of the Indian IT services providers, cloud constitutes a major chunk of their digital offering. And for TCS, digital services accounts for 25% of its overall revenue. Therefore, analysts say the partnership with Google is a game changer for the Indian firm.
“Google Cloud’s leading technology, paired with TCS’ enterprise modernization expertise will help our mutual customers with unparalleled cloud technology solutions and capabilities,” said Kevin Ichhpurani, corporate vice president at Google Cloud.
