Transcom to Launch a New Call Center in Cali

Transcom is expanding its operation in Colombia with the launch of a call center in Cali, one of the fastest growing economies in the Andean country. The Stockholm, Sweden-based BPO provider says the new site will bolster its capability to offer English and Spanish language services to clients in North America and Spain.

The outsourcing company has reportedly spent $3.1 million for the new facility, which will house close to 550 agents. “Transcom has signed a contract with a current client covering 95 percent of the new site’s total capacity, amounting to 525 seats,” said the company in a press release.

Transcom, which has a state-of-the-art facility in Barranquilla, says the Cali site will begin operations in November this year. “Colombia continues to evolve quickly as an attractive location for the delivery of customer care outsourcing services, providing a competitive cost structure, a growing labor pool, government support and an expanding economy,” Transcom said.

The company CEO Johan Eriksson has stated that the Cali site would increase the company’s nearshore and offshore delivery capacity. “We believe that the demand for Spanish-language services in North American markets is set to increase further in the years ahead, and Colombia is in a good position to deliver high-quality services in a cost-effective way,” Eriksson added.
