Acquia Launches Center of Excellence in Heredia

Cloud-based digital experience management solutions provider Acquia has strengthened its presence in Costa Rica by establishing a Center of Excellence in Heredia.

Headquartered in Boston, MA, Acquia currently employs 70 professionals in the Central American country. However, the company has not disclosed the number of additional hires planned in the near future.

According to CINDE, Costa Rica’s investment promotion agency, Acquia would recruit for roles in sales, technical support, customer management, and software development.

The new center, located at WeWork’s Cariari facility, is expected to enhance the company’s operational agility. Founded in 2007, Acquia offers a unique combination of open-source flexibility and enterprise-grade capabilities.

Tawny Barnett, Country Manager of Acquia Costa Rica, emphasized that the decision to expand into Costa Rica was driven by the country’s political stability and investment-friendly environment.

Marianela Urgellés Batalla, Managing Director of CINDE, highlighted that Acquia’s investment underscores the confidence global technology firms have in Costa Rica as a strategic business destination.
