Spanish multinational Indra Sistemas has unveiled its inaugural Support Services Center in Bogotá, Colombia, aiming to develop advanced technological solutions for security forces across Latin America.
This facility is designed to offer lifecycle support for mission-critical systems, aiming to enhance the operational effectiveness of regional governments.
Equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including predictive tools, the center is set to bolster the capabilities of military and security personnel. A team of locally sourced engineers will staff the center, receiving specialized training from Indra’s Spanish experts through online technical assistance.
Beyond the Bogotá center, Indra plans to establish a network of alliances and facilities in other Latin American countries, facilitating localized maintenance and support activities. The company will implement knowledge transfer (ToK) and technology transfer (ToT) mechanisms to strengthen indigenous capabilities.
Indra has a proven track record in leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. Notably, the company developed the Maestre mission system for the Spanish Army’s 8×8 Dragon vehicle, which serves as the vehicle’s central intelligence, integrating various systems to improve mission survivability and effectiveness.
Additionally, Indra has introduced a 360-degree vision system equipped with artificial intelligence to reinforce the protection and efficiency of armored vehicles during missions. This system enhances situational awareness by analyzing real-time data from multiple sensors, aiding in threat identification and decision-making.
