Peru is still an emerging player in the IT and BPO services space, but some of its second cities are really starting to make an impact. We have specifically highlighted the beautiful “Ciudad Blanca” of Arequipa, in addition to Trujillo and Chiclayo, as viable alternatives to Lima. “There are over 350,000 inhabitants between the ages of 15 and 39 years living in these three cities, with a large number of universities and technological institutions,” said Carlos San Roman of Adecco Peru. Now, others are taking note, too, with both Arequipa and Trujillo jumping in AméricaEconomía Intelligence’s list of the best Latin American cities to do business. While Lima comes in at #8, Arequipa has improved to #29, and Trujillo now ranks at #35. (Photo: Ivan Mlinaric)
