American pharmaceutical firm Cencora opened a shared services center in the Costa Rican city of Heredia.
The center is expected to create 240 new jobs, bringing Cencora’s total Costa Rican workforce to 400 employees. The company currently employs 160 people in the country.
Pennsylvania-based Cencora has a presence in over 1,300 locations across 50 countries. It arrived in Costa Rica in 2023, launching small operations out of the America Free Zone.
The new shared services center will play a greater role in supporting the company’s global business operations, leveraging the diverse talent Costa Rica has to offer, according to Jean Marie Roussel, Director of Shared Services at Cencora Costa Rica.
“This center will be a key strategic ally for Cencora,” said Marianela Urgellés, general director of CINDE, a Costa Rican investment promotion agency. “It will allow the company to maintain its leadership in pharmaceutical solutions while remaining committed to improving the quality of life for people and animals around the world.”
Cencora is looking to recruit bilingual individuals with experience in finance, customer service, patient services, human resources and information technology.
