DR Launches Academy to Provide Software Development Training

Universidad Abierta para Adultos (UAPA), one of the major educational institutions in the Dominican Republic, has inaugurated an innovation center (CADESOFT) in Santo Domingo, aiming to provide specialized training in software development and offer technology services to both public and private sectors.

The first initiative of its kind in the country, CADESOFT aims to promote multidisciplinary collaboration, bringing together professionals from diverse fields such as law, clinical psychology, and medicine to develop innovative technological solutions.

The center emphasizes hands-on training, offering students practical experience through real-world projects. This approach ensures graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the digital economy, where theoretical knowledge alone often falls short.

Initially, CADESOFT will try specializing in custom software development, creating solutions that are tailored to meet the specific operational needs of businesses.

Analysts say this service may particularly valuable for companies seeking software that aligns precisely with their requirements, as opposed to adapting to generic, off-the-shelf products. The center also offers technology licensing to provide broader access to its innovative solutions.

In addition, CADESOFT is actively seeking to collaborate with entrepreneurs, providing technological support to help drive business growth.

Analysts say this initiative will be especially beneficial for startups and small businesses, enabling them to overcome technological challenges and scale their operations efficiently.
