Gallup regularly polls the world to find out where the happiest people live, and its latest survey, of more than 150,000 people in 148 countries, found that the 10 happiest nations in the world are all located in Latin America. Paraguay was found to have the happiest people, while three countries with a reputation for violence — Colombia, Guatemala, and Honduras — all finished in the top five. It goes to show that perception doesn’t always match reality. Ecuador, Panama, Venezuela, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Nicaragua rounded out the top 10.
