OData To Build Two Hyperscale Data Centers in Central Mexico

Brazilian ICT firm OData is ramping up its presence in Mexico with the expansion of its existing facility in Queretaro and the construction of two hyperscale data centers in El Marques (a municipality just outside the city of Queretaro) and in the state of Guanajuato.

The El Marques facility, strategically located near Mexico City, will be the largest data center campus in the country with a capacity of 150MW. Construction is already underway. OData expects to deliver its second Mexican data center in the first quarter of 2024.

Both new campuses are specifically designed to cater to hyper-scale customers, reflecting the growing demand for large-scale data center solutions in the region.

“Mexico is currently one of the main markets in Latin America, where ODATA is well established and rooted to sustain its growth,” said Ricardo Alário, CEO of OData, in a press release.

Alário further highlighted the importance of Mexico for OData’s strategy in Latin America, where the company leverages its established presence, regional expertise and strong local supplier relationships to support its growth.

Founded in 2015, OData offers colocation services across Latin America, with existing facilities in Brazil, Chile and Colombia. The company’s recent expansion in Rio de Janeiro and Santiago further underscores its commitment to the region.

The company often claims its data centers are carrier-neutral, meaning they are not tied to a single carrier. This allows customers to choose the one that best suits their business model.
