Editor’s Choice – a Great Read

Latin America’s creative talent is being hard hit by piracy, but Brian Winter believes that something can and should be done to help clamp down on this growing problem to protect the region’s artists. Winter writes in Americas Quarterly that: “Latin America has long punched well above its weight in artistic talent. But the region also does an especially bad job of protecting its filmmakers, composers and designers from existential threats.”

His piece offers useful advice and guidelines on how to put an end to piracy and protect creatives from theft of their work. He calls on governments to act now to tackle the growing problem.
